Status of compatibility with the requirements

This website is not fully compliant with the requirements of WCAG 2.1 at conformance level AA, the Annex to the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the Accessibility Reinforcement Act (BFSG) due to the deviations and exceptions listed below.

It is recognised that certain areas of this website still require optimisation. The currently identified deficiencies include the following aspects:

  1. On several pages, images and icons do not consistently have appropriate text alternatives or accessible names. This can lead to information conveyed in images not being accessible to users of assistive technologies.

  2. Videos contain no subtitles, no audio description and no transcript.

  3. Structuring errors in lists, accordions and pagination can lead to these contents not being interpreted correctly by assistive technologies.

  4. Content behind dialogue elements is not programmatically hidden and is still accessible to screen readers, which impairs usability.

  5. The auto-complete function is missing for certain form input fields, making it more difficult to fill in.

  6. Individual text elements have an insufficient colour contrast to the background.

  7. On some pages, images of text are used instead of real text.

  8. Enlargement to 400 % results in incorrect display of individual elements.

  9. Form input fields sometimes have insufficient colour contrast to the background.

  10. The navigation dropdown cannot be closed with the Esc key.

  11. Several elements, such as the “Add to basket” button, cannot be operated using the keyboard.

  12. There is no function for skipping repeated blocks of content (e.g. ‘Skip to main content’ link).

  13. Some pages have no or insufficiently descriptive page titles.

  14. The focus sequence is sometimes not logical.

  15. Individual links do not contain any descriptive link text.

  16. Certain page content cannot be found via the internal search function and can only be accessed via direct links.

  17. Several elements lack a visible focus indicator or have insufficient contrast.

  18. In some forms, placeholders are used instead of labels or labels are missing completely.

  19. Error messages for input errors sometimes do not provide any information on the correct input.

  20. Some HTML elements contain duplicate or missing IDs, which means that assistive technologies cannot capture content correctly.

  21. In certain areas, accessible names are missing or ARIA attributes are used incorrectly.

We are actively working to resolve these issues and welcome feedback to further improve our accessibility.

The evaluation of the website was carried out by our own audit with the help of WAVE, Lighthouse.
